Jennifer Carpenter from ‘Dexter’ will Star in ABC’s Pilot ‘Sea of Fire’

Jennifer Carpenter will play the role of an FBI agent in the drama written by Jenna Bans.

The actress from Dexter who played the role of Debra Morgan for eight seasons on the drama from Showtime, has been chosen for a role in the ABC pilot, Sea of Fire.

The drama, based on the Dutch format Vuurzee, centers three teenage girls from a small town who star in a pornographic movie. The series will show the effects of what these girls are doing, their families’ reactions that lead to a disappearance, a murder and a series of other secrets that are boiling under the surface, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter.

Carpenter will play the role of Leah Pierce. a drive and eccentric FBI agent who has a secret in her past and few people skills (not like Marty, her partner). Pierce is called in to investigate the disappearance of a young girl.

Jenna Bans (Scandal) will write the script for production from ABC Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Scripted World and Mandeville. The other executive producers of the drama are Rob Golenberg, Alon Aranya, David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman, Laurie Zaks, Robert Kievit and Frank Ketelaar.

After she finished the serial killer drama from Showtime, Jennifer Carpenter said in September last year that she was ready to go back to work: “I want to find something great, but I’m daring and patient enough to find something that I can give everything to.”

Jennifer Carpenter’s credits include Quarantine and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. ABC’s pilot Sea of Fire will be directed by Allison Liddi-Brown.
