‘Insecure’ and ‘Beverly Hills, 90201’ Actress Denise Dowse Dies At 64

Denise Dowse (Insecure), known for recurring roles on shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210 and Insecure, has died at age 64, according to a post from the actress’ Instagram account that was posted by her sister, Tracey, as noted by Deadline. A cause of death was not given.

Ian Ziering (The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time), who starred alongside Dowse in Beverly Hills, 90210, gave a tribute of his own in the comments of the post.

“This is insanely heartbreaking. Throughout all my years working on Beverly Hills 90210, my scenes with Denise will always be remembered with the utmost in respect for her talent, and fondness for the loving soul she was. Some of my heartiest off camera laughs were between she and I hammering out the the discipline her Mrs. Teasley would dish out to my Steve Sanders. My sincere condolences to her family, and all others who she was dear to. God bless you Denise, pay forward that Legacy Key,” Ziering said.

Dowse played Vice Principal Yvonne Teasley on Beverly Hills, 90201 and then played another Vice Principal, Ms. McBride, in a recurring role on the sitcom California Dreams. She also had recurring roles on shows such as Built To Last, Dragnet, Rocket Power, The Guardian, Charmed, All Of Us, Secrets And Lies, Imposters, Good Trouble, and, most recently, Insecure. 

Dowse’s guest appearances include many notable shows such as SeinfieldFull HouseMurphy BrownStep By StepSister, SisterMoeshaGirlfriends, The West Wing, and Grey’s Anatomy. Her other credits include appearances on shows such as Touched By An Angel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Chicago Hope, ER, 9-1-1, Judging Amy, Nip/Tuck, Gilmore Girls, Everwood, House, Castle, Snowfall, Stumptown, The X-Files, Murder In The First, Monday Mornings, Criminal Minds, Bones, Saving Grace, The Mentalist, Law & Order, Without A Trace, The Practice, and much more.
