Hulu’s Drama Series ‘Chance’ Cancelled After Two Seasons

Hulu has cancelled Chance, which starred House alum Hugh Laurie. The cancellation comes after two seasons of its run.

From Fox 21 Television Studios, Hulu picked up Chance in 2016. Its first season debuted in October of 2016, and the second season premiered in October of 2017. Based on Kem Nunn’s novel of the same name, the drama stars Laurie as Eldon Chance, a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist. After an unwise decision regarding an alluring patient who may be struggling with multiple personality disorder, he finds himself in the crosshairs of her abusive spouse who is also a ruthless police detective. The character of Chance is also in the middle of a divorce and dealing with his teenage daughter. Laurie’s character is ultimately sucked into the world of mistaken identity, police corruption, and mental illness.

Lenny Abrahamson served as executive producer alongside Alexandra Cunningham, Laurie, Nunn, Michael London, and Brian Grazer. Cunningham also served as showrunner of the series.
