Hulu Announces Release Dates for ‘Animaniacs,’ ‘Monsterland,’ and More

Hulu has announced the release dates for several of its upcoming originals, Animaniacs, Monsterland, Eaters’ Guide to the World, and No Man’s Land, as Deadline reported earlier today. Ranging from docuseries to animated comedies, all five of these shows will premiere later this fall.

First, the long-awaited Animaniacs reboot will premiere on Friday, November 22nd. The animated variety comedy series has a revolving door of recurring skits. In particular, the reboot will follow the mischievous Warner siblings Yakko, Wakko, and Dot as they create chaos on the Warner Bros. studio backlot and the lab mice Pinky and the Brain as they try, and fail, to take over the world. The main cast will return for the reboot, including Rob Paulsen (Jimmy Neutron) as Yakko and Pinky, Jess Harnell (Rugrats) as Wakko, Tress Mac Neille (Tiny Tunes Adventures) as Dot, and Maurice LaMarche (Futurama) as the Brain. Steven Speilberg (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial) will also return as the Executive Producer. The reboot will consist of 26 episodes in total, with the first 13 episodes premiering this year and the second 13 in early 2021.

Additionally, horror anthology Monsterland will debut on Friday, October 2nd. The series features mermaids, fallen angels, and a variety of other monsters and demons as they terrorize innocents across the United States. The series is based on the collection of short stories by Nathan Ballingrud called North American Lake Monsters. Monsterland has a large ensemble cast, with notably Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) joining last month.

Eaters’ Guide to the World will be added to the service on Wednesday, November 11th. The docuseries spotlights the culinary cultures of various places around the world, such as Costa Rica or Casablanca. Maya Rudolph (The Good Place) stars and narrates the series, giving viewers a first-hand account of little known restaurants and bars in these areas.

Finally, the war drama No Man’s Land premieres on Wednesday, November 18th. The series crafts a fictional narrative around the Syrian Civil War, following Antonine Habert (Felix Moati, The French Dispatch) as he travels to Syria from France to find his long-lost sister. Along the way, the becomes a part of a group of Kurdish, pramirily-female freedom fighters, and gets a new, up close, and tragic view of the Syrian Civil War. Mélanie Thierry (Da 5 Bloods) stars as Antonine’s sister Anna, with Souheila Yacoub (Climax) as freedom fighter Sarya and James Purefoy (Roots) as the M16 agent Stanley rounding out the main cast.
