According to TV Series Finale, Hulu the online streaming service that rivals Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube Red recently announced their summer premiere dates for three of their original series.
Both Difficult People and Casual will be returning for their second season while East Los High will premiere its fourth season.
Casual’s sophomore season will debut on June 7th. The comedy series is about a bachelor brother and his newly divorced sister. They live under the same roof again and together they help each other face the crazy world of dating while they raise the sister’s teenage daughter. Casual stars Michaela Watkins, Tommy Dewey, and Tara Lynne Barr. The creator of Casual is Zander Lehmann. In the upcoming season, Alex (Dewey), Valerie (Watkins), and Laura (Barr) try to rebuilt their lives outside their home after a season full of wild dates and their parents’ surprise wedding. Now, new friends, business partners, boyfriends and girlfriends can only do so much to distract them from a shared and recurring history of dysfunction.
The second season of Difficult People premieres on July 12. In the comedy series, Julie and Billy, two 30-something aspiring comics live and work in New York City. While mostly everyone they know have found success and love, they continue to struggle with careers and relationships which makes them more bitter each day. Difficult People stars Julie Klausner, Billy Eichner, and James Urbaniak. Klausner, the creator of the series also stars as the main character Julie. In the upcoming sophomore season, Julie and Billy embark on a journey of finding a boyfriend while Julie does her best to avoid a deeper commitment to Arthur (Urbaniak). Julie and Billy still loathe for world around them but remain loyal to one another and as they get their own way, learn no lessons.
East Los High’s fourth season will premiere on July 15. In the drama series, a group of friends at East Los High face the trials and tribulations of teenagers growing up in East Los Angeles. The series also tackles many topics including safe sex, immigration, abortion, drugs, and same-sex issues. East Los High stars Danielle Vega, Vannessa Vasquez, Alicia Sixtos, Gabriel Chavarria, Rene Alvarado, Tracy Perez, and Ashley Campuzano. Carlos Portugal and Kathleen Bedoya developed and created the series. During the fourth season, school is out at East Los High and summer vacation is looking hotter than ever when new dancers join the Bomb Squad bringing new moves, forbidden romance, high stakes drama and a wedding that can’t be missed.
