CBS has ordered a pilot for the How I Met Your Mother spin-off.
After two weeks negotiations, the CBS network has closed the deal with 20th Century Fox for a pilot order to a spin-off project. According to Deadline, How I Met Your Dad will have new characters and is about a group of New York friends who will also hang out at MacLaren’s Pub.
How I Met Your Dad is written and executive produced by Emily Spivey (Up All Night), Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. There is no information yet regarding the presence of the spin-off’s characters in the finale of How I Met Your Mother.
