‘Hot Ones’ Is Coming To Netflix With A New Spinoff ‘Hot Ones: Extra Heat’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is expanding its YouTube to series roster as it picks up Hot Ones: Extra HeatThe series will be based on the popular YouTube talk show where host Sean Evans (Hot Ones Italia, Happy Gilmore 2) asks guests questions while they both eat increasingly spicy chicken wings. Extra Heat will be a series of specials that stream from the locations of Netflix live events. The first episode of the series will air on July 13.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the first guests on the series will be Will Ferrell (Elf, The Other Guys), Fortune Feimster (Sex Appeal, Yes Day) and Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal, Home Economics).

“As a student of the late-night genre, I’m obsessed with the art of the interview and believe that these conversations warrant a level of scale and spectacle that sometimes can’t be contained by a studio,” Evans said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s exciting to partner with Netflix to continue to break new ground with the format, while keeping the core of what fans love about Hot Ones firmly intact.”

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Hot Ones has produced more than 400 episodes since posting its first video on YouTube in 2015. While the Netflix show is underway, the original programming will continue to air on its YouTube channel. So will spinoffs Hot Ones Versus and Hot Ones Wing Pong. All shows in the franchise are produced by First We Feast.

“First We Feast has a decade-plus track record of delivering fresh interview formats and break-through moments with celebrities,” said Hot Ones co-creator and First We Feast CEO Chris Schonberger via The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s a thrill to continue to push the envelope with Netflix and bring the power of Hot Ones to some of the biggest, most culturally impactful moments on the service.”

Evans, Chris Schonberger (Sean in the Wild, Feast Mansion), Sarah Honda (The Burger, Curry Shop), Aaron Cooke (La La Land, House of Lies) and showrunner K.P. Anderson (Last Comic Standing, The Soup) will executive produce Hot Ones: Extra Heat.
