Hiatus for ‘Agents of SHIELD’

Comicbook.com has confirmed that Agents of SHIELD will be taking a hiatus in February. The February 2 episode “Past Life” will be the last new show for the remainder of the month. Additional information has not been released as to the reason for the break.

Season 5 of SHIELD was delayed due to the Marvel Inhumans premiere but was expected to run through without interruption. Since the Winter Olympics are due to begin February 6, ABC may be holding the remaining episodes to generate higher viewership.

The 11th episode of this season will air on March 2 and will debut the character Ruby, the top-secret character being portrayed by Dove Cameron. The following episode will be the series 100th and promises to deliver a “significant event” according to EP Jeph Loeb. “Look, this is not going to come as a surprise to anyone that’s ever seen a 100th episode, that there will be a significant event,” Loeb said. “That’s all I can tell you. They gotta get home from space!”

Based on this quote, it is anticipated “Past Life” will end the trip to the future and shed some light on the Blue Raven military base.
