‘Hello Goodbye’ Airport Docu-Series Produced by Ellen Degeneres with Host Curt Menefee

Airports, the place where thousands travel for reasons unique to each person.

Through their upcoming docu-series: Hello Goodbye,Travel Channel wants to capture some of the emotional and intense moments that may lead to saying goodbye to a loved one, ETonline reports.

The series is being executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres and will be a six-part series based on a popular British format series. Hello Goodbye follows host Curt Menefee as he embarks on a journey to four busy U.S. airports including Dallas/FortWorth, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Charlotte.

Menefee will meet with travelers and listen to various stories from family reunions and surprise proposals to emotional goodbyes and distinct perspectives. “It’s really an extension of who I am as a person and what I do in my own time and space.” The Fox NFL Sunday host added “It didn’t seem like [branching] out to me.”

Menefee travels frequently himself having visited over 80 countries he was eager to be a part of the show. In regards to the docu-series, the host stated “What surprised me somewhat was how open people are. They’re everyday people — most of them aren’t used to doing television interviews. But within a minute or two people really open up about personal issues in their lives.” Menefee went on to say that “The beauty of the show is it’s not really anything about travel. It’s about overcoming adversity. It’s about love. It’s about relationships. It’s about people. It’s as real as possible but as far away from reality TV as you can possibly believe.”

Menefee also commented on meeting with DeGeneres and her wife Portia De Rossi who both told the host that they truly enjoyed many of the stories told in Hello Goodbye.

You can watch the docu-series on Monday with back-to-back episodes at 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on Travel Channel.
