Heather Jones Named Programming Chief of A+E Networks

A+E Networks U.K. has announced they have hired Heather Jones as vice president of programming, announced the Hollywood Reporter.

Jones will take over the role later this month for the collaboration between A+E Networks and BSkyB, a satellite broadcaster. She has formerly worked for Viacom as director of television and managing director at Paramount Comedy, as well as managing director of North One Television, noted the Hollywood Reporter.

Audience growth and international expansion will be Jones’ areas to focus on. A+E Networks is hoping to expand their audience with original commissions and co-products, according to the Hollywood Reporter. As far as international expansion, Jones will be working with A+E Networks U.K. and their channels including History, Crime & Investigation Network and the upcoming release of the U.K. version of Lifetime network.

Tom Davidson, managing director of A+E Networks U.K. has faith in Jones, saying her “proven track record of driving audience growth and channel expansion across a variety of international networks and content genres makes her the perfect candidate for the role,” the Hollywood Reporter quoted.
