It would seems that the blind vigilante of Hell’s Kitchen isn’t ready to hang out his cowl just yet. According to The Direct, Marvel has given confirmation that Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox (Echo, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) will make major appearances in two upcoming Disney+ series arriving in 2027, with one being in the upcoming second of the animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and the other being the third season of Daredevil: Born Again.
Reported by The Direct, Cox first dawned the identity of the masked vigilante back in the original series back in 2015, and has and evolved the characters throughout numerous other Marvel’s project which includes The Defenders and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The last time that audience seen of Matt Murdock was in the finale of Daredevil: Born Again second season, in which he reveals is identity in court, thus being in detained locked up behind bars.
According to mxdwn, footage on Born Again’s third season will have familiar faces from Matt’s past which include Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Nightbooks); Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter (Evil, Plane); and Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist, played by Finn Jones (Game of Thrones, The Visitor).
Audience will also see a surprising return of Elektra, played by Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Gods of Egypt), who was last seen in The Defender’s finale in which she was thought to be dead alongside Matt, but survived and nursed him back to health. Stated by The Direct, the series showrunner, Dario Scardapane (Faceless, Memory) has confirmed the new season is heavily based on the on the 2006 comic arc “The Devil in Cell Block D, created by Ed Brubaker (Westworld, Batman: Caped Crusader) and Michael Lark (Lazarus, Gotham Central).
Audiences can rewatch Charlie Cox’s acting and voice performance in Daredevil: Born Again and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, whose current seasons are available to stream on Disney+, while waiting for further confirmation of their future seasons.
