HBO to Air a ‘Game of Thrones’ Marathon During the Holidays

The holidays are always a stressful time for people, but HBO has you covered. According to a press release from the cable network, HBO2 will be airing marathon of every episode from every season of Game of Thrones starting on Monday, Dec. 26.

The first season and the first 10 episodes will be shown on the 26th, starting at 12 p.m. EST/PST. The other seasons will air the following days at the same time, with the sixth season airing on New Year’s Eve.

So while winter is coming, fans of Game of Thrones can curl up with a marathon of their favorite show starting on Monday and can ring in the new year with the show.

While season seven isn’t likely to air anytime soon (filming of the season will end in February 2017), the marathon will give fans a chance to catch up (or rewatch) the episodes and could also give new viewers a chance to watch all of the episodes they have yet to see.

The marathon may also be a way to tide fans over since the show is filming later than they usually do because of the weather. But HBO was feeling benevolent towards the holiday season and gave people a little sneak preview during a episode of Westworld a few weeks ago.

The epic marathon will also allow fans to relive big moments that took place over the course of the show, like the purple wedding, finding out Jon Snow’s fate, the battle of the bastards and the infamous red wedding.

Throughout the show’s run, the show has been a favorite with both critics and fans and has won countless Emmys, becoming the most awarded show in 2016 with 38 wins.

Over the years, Game of Thrones has never neglected to leave fans wanting more and perhaps the marathon that’s coming will be enough to keep fans waiting on the edge of their seats until the seventh season airs.
