HBO Renews the Comedy-Drama Series ‘Somebody Somewhere’ for a Third Season

Created by Hannah Bos (High Maintenance, Mozart in the Jungle) and Paul Thureen (High Maintenance, Driveways), Somebody Somewhere premiered on HBO’s Max in January 2022. The series was quickly renewed for a second season, which premiered on April 23rd, 2023. Today, just over a month after the second season premiered, HBO renewed Somebody Somewhere for a third season.

Somebody Somewhere is about a woman named Sam played by Bridget Everett (Fun Mom DinnerLittle Evil). Although seemingly fitting in, Sam struggles to figure out where she belongs in her hometown in Kansas. She learns to cope with loss and learns to accept things as they are with the help of her passion for singing.

Everett also serves as a producer for this semi-autobiographical series.

Back in April, Everett spoke with TV Insider about how she relates to the show. She stated that when she was grieving over her own sister’s death, “It was my friends who kept the lights on. This show, for me, is a love letter to the healing power of friendship.”

The show also stars Jeff Hiller (The Little Tin Man, Greta) as Joel, Murray Hill (Drag Me to Dinner, Life & Beth) as Fred Rococo, Mary Catherine Garrison (How to Deal, Easy Living) as Tricia, and many more.

According to Deadline, the Executive Vice President of HBO and Max Comedy Programming named Amy Gravitt explained, “Nothing makes us smile quite like this show, which never fails to remind us that life is made up of the small moments, that family can be chosen, and that dreams don’t have deadlines.”

Gravitt continued, “We’re thrilled to announce the third season of the honest and impactful Somebody Somewhere.”

Fans of the show can now look forward to seeing where Sam’s life takes her next in the third season of Somebody Somewhere as she continues to find her place, strengthen her friendships, and dive into her passions.
