HBO Releases ‘We Are Who We Are’ Trailer

After being known as strictly a film director, Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name), will make his TV debut with HBO’s We Are Who We Are, according to VarietyThe premium network released its first trailer on Sunday, August 30.

The limited series follows 14-year-old Fraser Wilson, played by Jack Dylan Grazer (It, It Chapter Two, Shazam), after he moves from New York to a military base in Italy with both his mothers, Sarah, played by Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry, American Psycho), and Maggie, played by Alice Braga (Queen of the South, I Am Legend), as both his parents are soldiers. While on the military base, he ignites a friendship with Caitlin Harper, played by Jordan Kristine Seamon in her acting debut, who holds an affinity towards Sarah, as she hopes to one day become a soldier.

In 2017, Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name, starring Timothee Chalamet (Lady Bird, Little Women) and Armie Hammer (The Social Network, On The Basis Of Sex), was relatively well received and earned four Oscar nominations. While there have been talks about a sequel to the film, any plans have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 8-episode limited series will premiere on HBO on September 14. In the meantime, the newly released trailer can be watched below:
