Deadline has reported that HBO’s upcoming limited series The Regime has revealed a new teaser trailer along with the premiere date. The Regime will debut on HBO and Max on Sunday, March 3 at 9 p.m. It is made up of six episodes. Watch the teaser below!
Kate Winslet (Avatar; The Way of Water, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) executive produces and stars in the series. It was created by Frank Rich (Succession, Veep), Stephen Frears (The Lost King, Florence Foster Jenkins), and Will Tracy (The Menu, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver).
Tracy also serves as showrunner and writer. Other writers for the series include Jen Spyra (Our Cartoon President, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), Seth Reiss (Above Average Presents, Comedy Bang! Bang!), Gary Shteyngart (Super Sad True Love Story, Our Country Friends), Juli Weiner (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, The Regime), and Sarah DeLappe (Bodies Bodies Bodies, Cassandra at the Wedding).
The Regime follows the fall of a modern European regime over one year. Along with Winslet, the series stars Martha Plimpton (Running on Empty, Raising Hope), Matthias Schoenaerts (Far from the Madding Crowd, Racer and the Jailbird), Andrea Riseborough (Matilda the Musical, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain), Hugh Grant (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Four Weddings and a Funeral), and Guillaume Gallienne (The Edge of the Blade, Me, Myself and Mum).
The cast also features Pippa Haywood (The Brittas Empire, Green Wing), Rory Keenan (Somewhere Boy, Rules of the Game), Karl Markovics (Stockinger, The Counterfeiters), Henry Goodman (The Chosen, Codebreaker), Louie Mynett (The Man Who Fell to Earth, Silent Witness), David Bamber (The Village, Pride and Prejudice), and Stanley Townsend (Rough Diamond, Standby).
Executive producers of The Regime include Tracy, Frears, Winslet, and Jessica Hobbs (The Crown, The Split).
“Since I became your Chancellor, we have grown considerably as a country. It is time to show America and the world precisely what we are worth,” Winslet’s character says in the teaser, according to Deadline.
