HBO has released its first official teaser for the upcoming limited series Scenes from a Marriage starring Oscar Isaac (Show Me a Hero) and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), according to an HBO press release. The series has been adapted from Ingmar Bergman’s (The Seventh Seal) 1973 Swedish miniseries.
The series “re-examines the original’s iconic depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple, played by Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain,” according to its official logline. Scenes from a Marriage was written and directed by Hagai Levi (In Treatment) and executive produced by Amy Herzog (4000 Miles), Michael Ellenberg (Tell-Tale), Lars Blomgren (Beck), Chastain, Isaac, Daniel Bergman (Sunday’s Children), and Blair Breard (The Half of It) alongside Levi.
Scenes from a Marriage will debut in September on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max. The first official teaser for the series can be viewed below.
