HBO Max’s ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot will Begin Filming in New York in October

The Gossip Girl reboot from HBO Max will shoot in New York starting in October, according to Variety. The series, set in the Upper East Side of New York, will also be shooting in Vancouver and Los Angeles.

Set 8 years after the original Gossip Girl finale, the new series will follow a new generation of Upper East Side private school students that discover the power of the Gossip Girl website. The first season will have 10 episodes.

Kristin Bell (Veronica Mars) will be back to provide the voice of the narrator. Most recently, Bell played Eleanor Shellstrop in The Good Place on NBC. She also was the voice of Princess Anna in Frozen 2.

The new reboot series stars a bunch of young and unknown actors. The cast includes Jordan Alexander (Sacred Lies), Eli Brown (The F**k-It List), Adam Chanler-Berat (Next To Normal), Thomas Doherty (Legacies), Jonathan Fernandez (Lethal Weapon), Tavi Gevinson (Enough Said), Jason Gotay (Peter Pan Live!), Emily Alyn Lind (Revenge), Zión Moreno (Control Z), and Whitney Peak (Molly’s Game). Along with the original creators Josh Schwartz (The O.C.) and Stephanie Savage (Dynasty) returning as executive producers.

Leslie Morgenstein (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) will also serve as EP, with Joshua Safran (Smash) as showrunner. Gina Girolamo (You) will be representing Alloy Entertainment as executive producer. Lis Rowinski (Runaways) from Fake Empire is set to co-executive produce.

Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios are also producers. The series will premiere on HBO Max.
