HBO Max’s upcoming sequel to the famously scandalous Sex and the City franchise has officially gotten a release date, and is set to debut two episodes on December 9 with eight more episodes premiering weekly, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series will debut more than a decade after the premiere of the last installment of Sex and the City.
Having premiered in 1998, Sex and the City followed Sarah Jessica Parker’s (Hocus Pocus) Carrie Bradshaw, alongside her best friends, Samantha (Kim Cattrall, Police Academy), Charlotte (Kristin Davis, Deadline Illusions), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon, Ratched) as they explore the Manhattan dating scene together despite their differing natures and every-changing sex lives.
And Just Like That will feature most of the original cast, with Parker, Nixon, and Davis reprising their roles. Cattrall will not return due to a falling out with Parker, the lead member of the cast. The series will follow the girls as they navigate the messy reality of life and relationships in their 50s, just as they did two decades earlier. Chris Noth (Law & Order) will also reprise his role as Big, Evan Handler (Californication) as Harry Goldenblatt, and David Eigenberg (Chicago Fire) as Steve Brady. The series will also star Sara Ramirez (Grey’s Anatomy), Sarita Choudhury (Mississippi Masala), and Nicole Ari Parker (Soul Food).
