Fans of the adult-animated Harley Quinn can take a breath. According to Comicbook, HBO Max has announced that a new season of the DC show is coming in 2023. This will be the show’s fourth season, but no other news has been given regarding the new season.
The announcement came via a video that HBO Max released a few days ago regarding its programming for 2023. In the video, HBO Max announced new shows and the new seasons for its ongoing shows. One of the shows that was announced that was getting a new season is Harley Quinn. The premiere date for the fourth season has not been released.
It was previously announced that Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy will reunite for a Valentine’s Day special. The third season ended with Ivy and Harley defining their relationship and being happy together. The special will be the first time the couple celebrates Valentine’s Day together, and it’s also the first time the audience will get to see how the rest of the ragtag crew of villains spend the most lovey-dovey day of the year.
The voice cast of the Valentine’s Day special includes Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory, The Flight Attendant) as Harley Quinn, Lake Bell (What If…?, Bless This Mess) as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk (Doom Patrol, Rogue One) voices Clayface, Ron Funches (The Great North, TrollsTopia) is King Shark, Tony Hale (HouseBroken, Hocus Pocus 2) voices Dr. Psycho, J.B. Smoove (Fairfax, Woke) as Frank the Plant, and Matt Oberf (Superstore, Veep) as Kite Man. Other joining the voice cast are James Wolk (Ordinary Joe, Watchmen) as Superman, Natalie Morales (Dead to Me, Rugrats) as Lois Lane, Chris Diamantopoulos (American Dad!, Inside Job) voices Aquaman, James Adomian (Duncanville, Close Enough) reprises his role as Bane, Jim Rash (Sky High, Bros) voices The Riddler, Vanessa Marshall (Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Star Trek: Lower Decks) returns as Wonder Woman, Michael Ironside (Top Gun, Pumpkin Everything) as Darkseid, and Rachel Dratch (Bob’s Burgers, American Dad!) as Nora Freeze. In unknown roles are Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra, Injustice), Leila Birch (Doctors, The Scottish Play), Tyler James Williams (Abbott Elementary, The Argument), Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road, Jack Reacher), Casey Wilson (The Listener, Family Squares), and others.
According to Comicbook, HBO Max officially renewed the show for a fourth season ahead of the season three finale. Sarah Peters (Master of None, Nathan For You) has been a writer for the show since season one and currently serves as a consulting producer. Peters will be an executive producer and showrunner for Harley for season four.
The new season of Harley Quinn will premiere sometime in 2023. The Valentine’s Day Special is set to premiere in February 2023. All seasons of Harley Quinn are available to stream on HBO Max.
