Chelsea Handler (Chelsea Lately, Chelsea Does) has sold two shows to HBO Max and the new NBC streaming service Peacock, according to Deadline. HBO Max bought a comedy series called Blair and Peacock also bought a comedy series named Wiped Out.
Blair is based on a comic strip by comedian Mo Welch. The story follows girl named Blair in her twenties who is still trying to figure it out and has a candid outlook on life. She judges other people even though she’s not doing so well herself. Deadline describes Blair as “an older Daria“. Things get bad when she accidentally burns down her apartment and gets demoted at her less than perfect job. Blair goes back to living with her mother and must adapt to her new life.

Wiped Out is written by Charles Morris and follows a self-centered woman who has the best life. When she’s erased from everyone’s memory and reality shifts due to a passing black hole, she enlists the help of her conspiracy obsessed cousin to try and get her perfect life back. The twist is that she starts to realize that the world might be better without her in it.
Handler and Molly Burke (Chelsea, Hello Ross!) are set to serve as executive producers on both shows. Rachel Polan, the head of scripted development at Chelsea Handler Productions, has signed on to be co-executive producer on each project. Claudia Lonow (I Feel Bad, Sean Saves the World) will serve as showrunner for Wiped Out.
Handler’s book Life Will Be The Death of Me has been optioned by Universal TV and has Annapurna attached to develop into a television series.
