HBO Announces ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Silicon Valley,’ and ‘Veep’ Premiere Date

If you watch HBO religiously, then you will definitely want to clear your schedule for Sunday, April 24 because the cabler has a stellar marathon lined up. The much anticipated Game of ThronesSilicon Valley, and Veep are all set to return to TV on April 24. You might want to start stocking up on your favorite snack food because it’s going to be a long night. Game of Thrones will kick off the premiere marathon at 9:00, Silicon Valley will air at 10:00, and Veep will make it’s return to TV at 10:30.

Game of Thrones will begin it’s much anticipated sixth season on April 24, and we are beyond excited. For months we have been tortured by the question of Jon Snow’s fate, but soon our questions will be answered. This will be the first season to premiere before the book is in stores, so at this point, what will happen is anyone’s guess. What we do know for certain is that Bran Stark will be returning for season 6 after being absent in season 5. The details of Game of Thrones season 6 have been super top-secret, but I’m pretty sure we can look forward to the houses continuing to fight for power, more special appearances from Daenerys’s dragons, and our favorite characters placed in life-threatening situations.

Silicon Valley, a half-hour comedy show about California’s Silicon Valley, will follow HBO’s intense fantasy drama. Thomas Middleditch stars in the Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated comedy as Richard, an introverted man who, with the help of his tech savvy friends, tries to make it big in the Bay Area’s high-tech gold rush. T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Suzanne Cryer, and Jimmy O. Yang also star in the series.

Also launching its new season that night is the political comedy Veep. Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars in this Emmy-nominated series as Selina Meyer. Meyer is the fictional Vice President of the United States who subsequently becomes president. This comedy follows the life of the female president as she runs a nation and fits a personal-life in there somewhere. The star-studded cast also includes Emmy winner Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott, Matt Walsh, Timothy C. Simons, Sufe Bradshaw, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole, Sam Richardson, and Hugh Laurie.
