Harry Anderson, Star of ‘Night Court’ Passes Away at 65

Harry Anderson, the quirky comic who was made famous playing a New York judge on Night Court, was founded dead in his North Carolina home. He was 65.

According to Asheville Police Department, they responded to a call at the actor’s home where he was pronounced. No foul play is suspected.

Anderson portrayed Judge Harry T. Stone on the sitcom which ran from 1984 through 1992. His off-beat character handled the dregs of society with a joke, a magic trick, and a wide array of ties. He also played a supporting role on Cheers throughout its run as well as bit parts on Tales from the Crypt and 30 Rock. Harry had limited success from 1993-1997 on the series Dave’s World portraying Pulitzer Prize winning columnist, Dave Barry.

He is survived by two children from his first marriage, Eva and Dashiell Anderson, and his second wife, Elizabeth Morgan.
