NBC is going to get a whole lot happier this October with the season three premiere of Happy’s Place. In a press release on Monday, the network released the official season three trailer, first-look photos and key art ahead of the season’s Oct. 23 debut.
The series follows Bobbie, played by Reba McEntire (Reba, The Voice), as she takes over Happy’s Place, the tavern her father once owned. After inheriting the bar, she discovers she has a half-sister in her twenties, who becomes her business partner.
Season three will further explore the dynamic between Emmett and Bobbie as their romantic relationship continues to fade, raising questions about whether they will remain strictly friends. Isabella’s speakeasy starts to gain success, influencing her professional and personal life. Meanwhile, Gabby and her mother’s relationship will face new challenges after her mother moves in with her in Knoxville. Steve decides to stop letting his OCD hold him back as he begins taking steps toward a fuller life. Takoda also faces new struggles that change how others at the bar view him. Despite the challenges each character encounters, the group will continue to support one another.
Happy’s Place stars McEntire, Belissa Escobedo (Hocus Pocus 2, The Baker and the Beauty), Melissa Peterman (Haul Out the Holly, Person, Place or Thing), Pablo Castelblanco (Ganymede, Alaska Daily), Tokala Black Elk (A Dark Foe, The Bygone), and Rex Linn (CSI: Miami, Cliffhanger).
According to NBC, James Denton (Desperate Housewives, The Good Witch) will guest star as JB, “a handsome patron at the bar who immediately captures the attention of both Gabby and Bobbie, but, ultimately, it’s Bobbie he wishes to pursue.”’ Additionally, Jane Lynch (The Weakest Link, Wreck-It Ralph) will guest star as Val, and Justin Machado (One Day at a Time, The Horror of Dolores Roach) will guest star as Maritza.
Happy’s Place is written by Kevin Abbot (Malibu Country, How to Make a Killing) and executive produced by Aboot, McEntire, Michael Hanel (Titus, Reita Rocks), Mindy Schultheis (Titus, Reba), Pamela Fryman (Barbara, How I Met Your Mother), Julie Abbott, and Franco Bario (Mulaney, Great News).
