James Gunn, known for directing the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and Hollywood Records released their chosen songs for the soundtrack of the Disney+ Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, via Comicbook. The Guardians of the Galaxy films have accumulated a high expectation for their soundtracks, which include many beloved songs predating the 1980s such as Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede and I Want You Back by Jackson 5.
The soundtrack includes Dead By X-mas by Hanoi Rocks, Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses, Fairytale of New York by The Pogues feat Kirsty MacColl, Christmastime by The Smashing Pumpkins, Just Like Christmas by Low, Is This Christmas by The Wombats, Christmas Treat by Julian Casablancas, and Mrs. Claus by Little Jackie, via Comicbook. The soundtrack also includes two original songs made for the Holiday Special: I Don’t Know What Christmas Is (But Christmastime Is Here) by Old 97’s and Here It Is Christmastime by Kevin Bacon and Old 97’s.

The Special Presentation follows the Guardians, who are on a mission to make Christmas unforgettable for Quill, as they head to Earth in search of the perfect present. The series stars Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation, Jurassic World) as Peter Quill, Dave Bautista (Blade Runner) as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan (Selfie, Not Another Happy Ending) as Nebula, and Pom Klementieff (Oldboy, The Suicide Squad) as Mantis. Featuring Vin Diesel (The Fast and the Furious franchise) as Groot, Bradley Cooper (A Star is Born, American Sniper) as Rocket, and Kevin Bacon (Footloose, Apollo 13) as himself. Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be available to stream on Disney+ on November 25.
