Greg Germann Exits ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Another doctor is saying goodbye to Grey’s Anatomy. Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) will depart the show as a series regular after playing Dr. Thomas Koracick for four seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Germann is the third series regular to exit Grey’s Anatomy this season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Last night’s episode marked his final bow alongside Jesse Williams (Little Fires Everywhere), who is also leaving the series. Giacomo Gianniotti (Station 19), who played Andrew DeLuca, was written off the show in March.

“Greg Germann is a comic genius and we are so lucky that he brought his talents to our show these last few years. We will miss Greg terribly in the day to day — but we plan to see Tom Koracick again!” showrunner Krista Vernoff said in a statement Thursday via The Hollywood Reporter.

“To have worked with all the incredibly talented people involved with Grey’s over the past few years has been such a privilege. A big thank you to the fans as it has truly been a shared experience!” said Germann via The Hollywood Reporter.

Germann is best known for his portrayal of Richard Fish on the comedy-drama series Ally McBeal, which aired for five seasons on Fox from 1997-2002. He has starred in numerous television series since then, including Netflix’s Friends from College, Once Upon A Time and House of Lies.

The Hollywood Reporter reports Grey’s Anatomy was recently renewed for its eighteenth season following contract negotiations with showrunner Krista Vernoff (Station 19) and stars Ellen Pompeo (Station 19), Chandra Wilson (Private Practice) and James Pickens Jr. (The X-Files).
