According to Deadline, FX reveals the premiere date for the second season of English Teacher. FX has scheduled the series to air on Thursday, September second. English Teacher will launch on the network with three back-to-back episodes at 9 p.m. The day after the FX linear premiere, on September 26, all 10 episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers and VOD via television providers.
As per Deadline, English Teacher is created by Brian Jordan Alvarez (Good Morning America, Bedtime Stories of the Ingleside Inn), who also stars in the series. The second season of the series follows Evan Marquez as he continues to navigate his way through the political minefield known as the American high school. Back with Evan — though not always on his side — are his best friend Gwen, gym teacher Markie, wild card guidance counselor Rick and constantly terrified Principal Grant Moretti. This season, the gang finds themselves in the crosshairs of issues including climate change, Covid, military recruitment and student cellphone usage. Evan also struggles to keep his relationship with Malcolm separate from his work life. Even though Malcolm no longer works at Morrison-Hensley, Evan’s excessive righteousness at school takes an increasing toll on his romantic life.
According to Deadline, the cast of the series includes Stephanie Koenig (The Flight Attendant, The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo), Enrico Collantoni (Veronica Mars, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle), Sean Patton (All Wifed Out, Those Who Can’t) Carmen Christopher (The Bear, Wayne Brady’s What If with Jonathan Mangum) and many others.
As per Deadline, English Teacher is executive produced by Alvarez, Paul Simms (The Larry Sanders Show, What We Do in the Shadow), Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia, Kroll Show), Dave King (Parks and Recreation, The Good Place), Kathryn Dean (Those Who Wish Me Dead, Sleeping with Other People) and Jake Bender (Bless the Harts, Fallout) and Zach Dunn (The Brothers Sims, Mr. Student Body President). The series is produced by FX Productions.
