Deadline has reported that FX has released the official trailer for upcoming limited mystery series A Murder at the End of the World. The series stars Emma Corrin (Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Crown), Brit Marling (Another Earth, The OA), Clive Owen (Children of Men, King Arthur), and Harris Dickinson (Where the Crawdads Sing, Triangle of Sadness). It is created by Marling and Zal Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice, The OA) and will consist of seven episodes.
The trailer opens with a cover of the song “Strangelove” by Depeche Mode as Corrin’s character says, “I sometimes wonder, would it have been better not to go? I think about it like a coin toss, when your life can go one way, or another. When you’re trapped at the end of the world, there’s no going back.”
A Murder at the End of the World follows Corrin’s Darby Hart, a Gen Z tech-savvy hacker and amateur sleuth who is invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote location along with eight other guests. Darby must use her skills when one of the guests is found dead. She has to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests before the murderer kills again.
The series also stars Ryan J. Haddad (The Politician, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Neal Huff (Radium Girls, Beach Rats), Edoardo Ballerini (The Pest, Dinner Rush), Raúl Esparza (Hannibal, Candy), Britian Seibert (The Knick, A Murder at the End of the World), Joan Chen (The Last Emperor, Saving Face), and Daniel Olson (Spider-Man: Far From Home, Our Flag Means Death).
It also features Louis Cancelmi (Team Marco, The Irishman), Pegah Ferydoni (Ayla, Almania), Christopher Gurr (The West Virginian Starfish, Soul Santa), Alice Braga (Queen of the South, Hypnotic), Jermaine Fowler (The Drop, Sorry to Bother You), Kellan Tetlow (This is Us, The Saint of the Impossible), and Javed Khan (The Capture, Gangs of London).
The series is produced by FX Productions and written by Melanie Marnich (The Affair, The OA) and Rebecca Roanhorse (Trail of Lightning, Race to the Sun). It is executive produced by Nicki Paluga (Perception, The OA), Andrea Sperling (Transparent, But I’m a Cheerleader), Marnich, Batmanglij, and Marling.
