From Manga to Motion: ‘Blue Box’ Gets Animated

According to Screenrant, the romance and sports manga series, Blue Box, will be receiving an anime adaptation. The series has been praised by fans and critics alike, remaining in the Weekly Shonen Jump for over two years. The manga series was first published on April 12, 2021. The series follows a student and member of the boy’s badminton team, Taiki Inomata, who trains with his upperclassmen and crush, basketball player Chinatsu Kano, as the two improve their skills for their respective teams and grow close to each other. The trailer above gives us a quick glimpse into the story and the characters, and what we can expect. According to Screenrant, despite the differences between the sports and romance genres, Blue Box does an outstanding job balancing the themes to make up for any shortcomings, which makes it stand out from the competition. Unlike other romance Shonen anime, the characters of Blue Box are more nuanced and relate to the audience, and avoid the cliches of other animes in the same genre, such as the series does not include any harem or that there is a love triangle.

According to Screenrant, the series will be produced by Telecom Animation Film (Tower of God) and UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS (Detective Conan). The series will star Shoya Chiba (86, Play It Cool, Guys) as Taiki Inomata, Reina Ueda as Chinatu Kano (My Happy Marriage, Bibliophile Princess), and Akari Kito (A Girl and Her Guard Dog, Demon Slayer: To The Swordsmith Village) as Hina Chono.

Overall, Blue Box is sure to be a must-watch for all fans of romance, sports, and anime. With its heartwarming story, stunning visuals, and captivating characters, Blue Box has the potential to become a breakout hit and win over a whole new generation of fans. While there is no confirmed release date for the highly anticipated Shonen anime, is rumored to be released in 2024, and there is sure to be future information along the way.
