Freeform’s ‘Siren’ Comes to an End After 3 Seasons

After two months of season 3 airing, Freeform has canceled mystery thriller mermaid drama, Siren, according to Variety. The American television series drama is one of the seven Freeform lineup series, and ranked number 1 in total audience.

The show’s cancellation came about after two months into the Season 3 final after the original Freeform series showed double-digits rating drop according to Deadline. It still remained favorite and most-watched among the Freeform originals and Freeform network.

Siren made its first network appearance on March 29, 2018 and was executive produced by Emily Whitesell (Finding Carter) and Eric Wald (View From the Top). The series is based on a mermaid tale, The Deep, created by co-writers Eric Wald and Dean White (The 100).

The coastal town-based series highlights the legend of mermaids and proves it through the main feminine character Eline Powell (Game Of Thrones) as Ryn.

Other characters include Alex Roe (The Fifth Wave) as Ben Pawnall, Fola Evans-Akingbola (An American Exorcism) as Madison Bishop, Ian Verdun (Life’s a Drag) as Xander McClure, Rena Owen (Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Helen Hawkins, Sibonglie Mlambo (Black Sails) as Donna in season 1, and Tiffany Lonsdale (Ascension) as Tia in season 3.
