Well, it looks like Baby Daddy fans are going to see a lot more of Ben, Danny and Riley!
Yesterday it was announced that Freeform’s Baby Daddy is getting another season to explore the characters and the antics they get up to. This will be the 6th season for the sitcom, which will mark the 100th episode for the show.
With the 100th episode around the corner it raises the question on what kind of storylines the show will take on. Normally when a show reaches a milestone like the 100th episode the plot lines are a bit more climactic.
When asked what fans can expect from the season 5 finale and the upcoming 6th season, Baby Daddy’s showrunner, Dan Berendsen, said that Danny and Riley will resolve their current issues, “Before the end of [Season 5], and you’ll see a great new adventure for them. … We allow that to play out for a little while, and it will ultimately make them a stronger couple.”
TVLine, decided to ask Derek Theler (Danny Wheeler) on what he thought that cryptic comment meant, hinting that “great new adventure” could be code for another Wheeler baby.
“Do I think [Danny] is ready to be a father? Absolutely not. But think back to Season 1 — Ben wasn’t exactly ready when Emma showed up on his doorstep. [Danny] would have to step up his game if that’s something the show decides to do.”
Freeform released a comment on what fans can expect from next season, “Ben will remain on his quest to find the ‘girl of his dreams’ and Emma’s new mom, while Danny and Riley figure out their future.”
This season Ben got close to finding the girl of his dreams but he let his high school crush on Sam get in the way of his feelings for his neighbor Zoey. This ultimately led to Ben waiting too long to pursue Zoey (Jonna Walsh) who decided to get back together with her own baby daddy and ex-marine boyfriend, Aaron.
Will Ben be able to find someone as good of a match for him as Zoey was?
Awhile back, Danny proposed to Riley and she said no but maybe the new adventure in season six has to do with Riley saying ‘yes’!
Whatever the scenario, Baby Daddy fans can take solace in knowing that there is at least another season to follow the drama.
