Fox Unveils First Look At ‘Doc,’ New Medical Drama Series Starring Molly Parker

Fox’s next medical drama after The Resident will be Doc. Inspired by a true story, the series is an adaptation of the globally acclaimed Italian series Doc – Nelle tue mani, a Lux Vide production created by Francesco Arlanch (Blanca) and Viola Rispoli (Inspector Ricciardi). Per Deadline, the network released the first look at the procedural in a clip on Friday, ahead of it airing during Game 2 of the World Series Saturday on Fox.

Molly Parker (Lost in Space) stars as the brilliant Dr. Amy Larsen, Chief of Internal Medicine. After a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life, Amy finds that she has zero recollection of the patients she’s treated, the colleagues she’s crossed, the man she loves or the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away. Her only support system in navigating this unfamiliar new world is her 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers only as a nine-year-old, and a handful of friends, as she continues to practice medicine despite having lost a decade of knowledge and experience.

In the released clip, Parker’s Larsen appears determined to get her life back together after regaining consciousness, only to learn her husband has divorced her as she fights to resume the work she loves most—that of being a doctor.

The series also stars Omar Metwally (Big Sky), Amirah Vann (The Changeling), Jon Ecker (The Watchful Eye) and Anya Banerjee (The Blacklist). Scott Wolf (Nancy Drew) and Patrick Walker (Lessons in Chemistry) recur in featured roles.

Doc is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios. Barbie Kligman (Magnum P.I.) serves as showrunner and will executive produce alongside Hank Steinberg (For Life) of Channel Road Productions and Erwin Stoff (The Serpent Queen) of 3 Arts Entertainment.

Fox has issued no release date yet, but Doc is scheduled to premiere during the 2024-25 television season.
