Fox Releases Trailer for Dan Harmon’s Animated Series ‘Krapopolis’

Deadline reports that Fox has released new official trailer for Dan Harmon’s (Rick and Morty, Community) upcoming animated series Krapopolis. The series will debut on Fox with a special two-episode preview after the NFL doubleheader on Sunday, September 24. It will become a part of Fox’s Animation Domination block on Sunday, October 1 at 8 p.m. before Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy and after The Simpsons.

The series has already been renewed for three seasons. It was previously set to debut with four episodes in a two-hour block in May along with Grimsburg and the second season of Housebroken, but was moved to the 2023-24 season.

Krapopolis takes place in a mythical ancient Greece and follows a dysfunctional family of humans, gods, and monsters as they try their hand at running the world’s first cities. Tyrannis is the benevolent King of Krapopolis, the mortal son of a goddess, and trying to make do in a city that lives up to its name. Tyrannis’ mother is Deliria, a goddess of questionable choices and self-destruction. She is known as the trashy one in her extended Olympian family that was forged in patricide and infidelity. Tyrannis’ father is Shlub, a mantitaur (half centaur, half manticore) who is underemployed and oversexed. He claims to be an artist and has never paid for anything in his entire life. Stupendous is Tyrannis’ half-sister, a cyclops and daughter of Deliria. Hippocampus is Tyrannis’ half-brother who is the offspring of Shlub and a hot mess.

Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd, Travel Man) stars as Tryannis, Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso, Game of Thrones) plays Deliria, Matt Berry (The Book of Boba Fett, What We Do in the Shadows) plays Shlub, Pam Murphy (Get Shorty, Another Period) plays Stupendous, and Duncan Trussell (The Midnight Gospel, Stupidface) plays Hippocampus.

Recurring guest stars include Will Forte (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live), Alanna Ubach (Meet the Fockers, Legally Blonde 3), Susan Sarandon (A Bad Moms Christmas, The Lovely Bones), Jane Lynch (Glee, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Dave Franco (Now You See Me, 21 Jump Street), Michael Urie (Ugly Betty, Shrinking), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Drake & Josh), and Amber Stevens West (Happy Together, The Carmichael Show).

Krapopolis is created and executive produced by Harmon and is produced by Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment. Jordan Young  (BoJack Horseman, Close Enough) will serve as showrunner for  season one and will executive produce seasons two and three with Alex Rubens (Community, Key and Peele).
