Fox Comedy ‘Call Me Kat’ Adds Leslie Jordan And Cheyenne Jackson To Its Cast

According to DeadlineFox has picked up a new series starring Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory). Call Me Kat will be based on the British sitcom written by Miranda Hart, Miranda, and will be written and produced by Darlene Hunt (The Big C), Bialik, and her former co-star Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory)

The comedy will take place in Kentucky and stars Bialik as Kat, a middle-aged woman who spends the money set aside by her parents for her wedding in order to buy a cat-themed cafe. Additionally, Call Me Kat will feature Leslie Jordan (Will & Grace) for the role of Phil, who works for Kat’s cafe in an attempt to help him through his breakup with his long-term partner. Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story), Swoosie Kurtz (Mike & Molly), Kyla Pratt (One on One), and Julian Gant (Bilal’s Stand) will star alongside Bialik and Jordan.

The Big Bang Theory, which ran from 2007-2019 with 12 seasons, was Bialik’s first big role since Blossom, which ran through the 90s. The Big Bang Theory love interests, Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler) and Parsons (Sheldon Cooper), will be reunited through the behind-the-scenes production in Call Me Kat. Both Parsons and his husband Todd Spiewak (Young Sheldon) have agreed to executive produce this series, however it is unknown whether or not they will make an on-screen appearance, via TV Guide.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the project originally began filming in Los Angeles until the coronavirus outbreak. After finally announcing its Fall schedule, Fox concluded that none of its series that had not finished production, such as Call Me Kat, would be kept for a midseason debut. The only series that have completed filming are Next and Filthy Rich, which will air in the Fall.
