Former ‘NCIS’ Actress Pauley Perrette Reveals She Suffered A Nearly-Fatal Stroke Last Year

Beloved TV actress Pauley Perrette surprised fans when she announced via Twitter that she had suffered a massive stroke, almost dying, this time last year, according to Deadline. The former NCIS star detailed several brushes with death in the post that proclaimed she was “STILL HERE.” See the full post below.

Per Deadline, Perrette took to her Twitter account Saturday stating “One year ago I had a massive stroke.” She also detailed in the accompanying video the various other times she had “cheated death” as she is a sexual and domestic violence survivor and also overcame an allergic reaction to a hair dye. Perrette also mentioned a host of family and friends she had lost in the past year, compounding the series of trauma. Despite all of these things, she stated how she is “still so grateful, still so full of faith, and STILL HERE.”

Perrette is best known for the role of Abby Sciuto on CBS’ NCIS, which she played for 15 years, via Deadline. After opting to leave the series in 2018, she starred in the NBC sitcom, Broke, which was canceled after one season. In 2020, Perrette declared herself retired from acting.

In addition to the monumental run in the original NICS series, Perrette’s other TV credits include teen drama Dawson’s Creek, fantasy drama Early Edition, and the short-lived Time of Your Life starring Jennifer Love-Hewitt (Heartbreakers, 9-1-1). In films, she appeared in 1997’s The Price of Kissing, 2000’s music melodrama Almost Famous, horror classic The Ring, Disney’s Brother Bear, and Superman vs. the Elite.
