‘Fargo’ Season Five Trailer Released

According to Deadline, the season five trailer for Fargo has been released. The series has been stated to return on Tuesday, November 21. The multi-award-winning series will continue to premiere on FX. View the teaser below.

Deadline reports that season five will show various new problems for the characters, centering on June Temple’s (Palmer, Ted Lasso) Dot Lyon. After a few miscellaneous meetings with law enforcement, the typical Midwestern housewife’s facade begins to crack, revealing a dark past she thought she left behind long ago. Standing at the end of that history is Jon Hamm’s (The Morning Show, Made Men) Sheriff Roy Tillman, a preacher and lawman whose stern interpretation of the law often makes him believe he’s above it. He has been following Lyon’s trail for years to bring her to justice.

As Tillman moves in, Lyon’s peculiar behavior sparks the interest of fellow Minnesota and North Dakota authorities, causing her estranged mother-in-law to begrudgingly intercept to protect her family secrets. It’s an assortment of errors as everyone has something to hide.

In addition to Temple and Hamm, the show stars Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Sam Spruell (Snow White and The Huntsman), David Rysdahl (No Exit), Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Richa Moorjani (Never Have I Ever), Lamorne Morris (New Girl), and Dave Foley (The Wrong Guy), according to Deadline.

The series is created by Noah Hawley (Before the Fall, The Good Father) and based on the 1996 Coen Brothers movie starring Frances McDormand (Nomadland, The Tragedy of Macbeth), William H. Macy (Shameless, Maybe I Do),  and Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire, Billy Madison). The film scored six Oscar nominations including Best Picture and Best Directing.

While season four has 11 episodes, season five is set to have 10, says Deadline. The show has been successful, having won six primetime Emmys throughout its run.

Season five of Fargo premieres at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 21 on FX.
