Kieran Culkin (“Severance,” Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) has been cast in an upcoming “Family Guy” Halloween special. According to Variety, Culkin will be guiding people to their fates as Satan.
It was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that “Family Guy” will have both an upcoming Halloween and Christmas-themed special that will release later this fall. The holiday specials will be released exclusively on Hulu and Disney+.
The Halloween special, titled “Happy Hell-O-Ween,” will follow Brian and Stewie as they find themselves in hell. The duo is sent there to pay for their bad behavior throughout the show, but when they annoy the Devil himself, they end up in charge of hell.
Once the season of scares is over, the season of joy begins. The “Family Guy” Christmas special will be titled “The Peter Clause,” and will follow Peter as he and his friends compete to see who will be Quahog’s official Santa. When Peter loses, he decides to give us an episode to remember.
The announcement of the holiday specials was done by executive producer and showrunner Richard Apple (“The Cleveland Show, “American Dad”), who also showed a first look at Culkin’s role as the Devil. Also on stage were “Family Guy” stars Alex Borstein (Lois), Arif Zahir (Cleveland), Jennifer Tilly (Bonnie), and co-executive producer/supervising director Peter Shin (“Freakizoid”).
No other roles have been announced in either of the holiday specials, but as the show enters its 25th season, other specials are likely to appear in the show’s runtime.
