‘Dr. Wolf’ Greenlit By NBC

According to TVLine, Dr. Wolf has been given a series order on NBC. The show features Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), Teddy Sears (Chicago Fire), Tamberla Perry (Boss), Ashleigh LaThorp (The Handmaids Tale), Alexander MacNioll (This Drak Place), Aury Krebs (Maya), and Spence Moore II (All American). The show also features Micheal Grassel as the executive producer. Grassel has also worked on shows such as Riverdale and Pretty Little Liars: Original Sign.

Along with Grassel, the production team includes Lee Toland Krueger (The Age of Adeline), Greg Berlanti (Dawson’s Creek), Sarah Schechter (The Flash), Leigh London Redman (Gotham Knights), Henrik Bastin (American Odyssey), Andy Serkis (Inkheart), Jonathan Cavendish (The Ritual), Will Tennant (Godzilla) and DeMane Davis (You), says TVLine

TVLine also summarized the show, saying it follows “Oliver Wolf, a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist, and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier — the human mind — while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health.”

The series also follows the real life stories of Dr. Oliver Sacks and the work that he accomplished. His story can be found in the books The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars.

The green light for the series comes along with the mockumentary St. Dennis Medical. NBC only picked up four pilots last season and greenlit one comedy and one drama. This gives fans high hopes for Dr. Wolf. However, it is unknown when the show will actually be released due to the on-going actors’ strike in the Hollywood industry, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The longer the actors remain on strike, the harder it will be for the show to be made.

The Hollywood Reporter also stated that the show has been in the works since 2018 and the official pilot was ordered in January of this year.

The show is also being co-produced by Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, claims The Hollywood Reporter. The show is also a homecoming for Quinto, due to him leaving NBC’s Heroes.
