The highly anticipated third season of Dr. Stone is approaching, and Crunchyroll has released a new trailer for the series. Dr. Stone New World will premiere its subtitled version on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 7:30 am PDT, and the English dubbed version follows with its premiere on April 20, 2023, at 12:30 pm PDT, according to ScreenRant.
Dr. Stone depicts a young scientist, Seku, who has awakened from a stone prison after being locked away for thousands of years. As Senku progresses, he seeks to prevent humanity from suffering the same destiny while encountering new allies and foes on his journey.
Via ComicBook, the official description of the series reads: “Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon that turns all of humanity to stone, the extraordinarily intelligent, science-driven boy, Senku Ishigami, awakens. Facing a world of stone and the total collapse of civilization, Senku makes up his mind to use science to rebuild the world. Starting with his super strong childhood friend Taiju Oki, who awakened at the same time, they will begin to rebuild civilization from nothing… Depicting two million years of scientific history from the Stone Age to the present day, the unprecedented crafting adventure story is about to begin!”
According to ComicBook, the upcoming season is highly anticipated because Senku appears to have uncovered the identity of the culprit responsible for imprisoning humans in stone for millennia.
Crunchyroll, as reported by ComicBook, described the upcoming season as “the former members of Tsukasa’s Empire of Might joining forces with the Kingdom of Science to construct a ship that can navigate open waters and uncover the mystery of global petrification. However, before setting sail, Senku and his comrades must acquire essential resources and make new scientific breakthroughs to create the ideal vessel.”
Despite the significant technological advancements that have already occurred in the series, launching a ship capable of crossing oceans is a formidable task. To accomplish this, Senku and his allies from the Kingdom of Science must team up with the brightest minds from Tsukasa’s recently defeated Empire of Might. In addition, they will need to obtain enough resources to successfully navigate the sea, which is no easy feat. This may result in the introduction of new characters while existing fan favorites such as Chrome and Gen will also play a role. The group may face various threats in the wider world, including other groups of humans, large creatures, or the beings responsible for petrifying humanity in the first place. As the release date approaches, anticipation for the new season continues to grow.
