According to TVLine, The CW series Superman & Lois has just added Douglas Smith (Big Little Lies, Don’t Worry Darling) to take on the role of an iconic DC character in the fourth and final season. Smith is known for playing many roles, such as Ben Henrickson on HBO’s Big Love and Percy Jackson’s half-brother Tyson in 2013’s Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Smith will be playing the role of the Daily Planet’s photographer Jimmy Olsen in the series. This will be the first time that Jimmy Olsen has made an appearance in the series. The series is scheduled to premiere later this year in the fall on The CW.
According to TVLine, the official description of the character of Jimmy Olsen states, “Despite being work colleagues with Clark, he’s been unable to get him out of his ‘awkward’ shell. Unaware of Clark’s super-secret, Jimmy’s still determined to become his pal.” He is also described as the “life of the party” at work.
Superman & Lois is a series focused on Superman, also known as both the Man of Steel and Clark Kent, and the famed journalist Lois Lane. This time ,while working regular jobs, the couple is facing one of their greatest challenges ever :being parents.
Other cast members of the series that will be returning for the fourth and final season include Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Supergirl) as Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash) as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin (The Peanuts Movie, New Amsterdam) as Jordan Kent, Michael Bishop (Skin Like Bark, Grace Beside Me) was Jonathan Kent and Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead, Band of Brothers) as Lex Luthor.
