‘Django Unchained’ Actor to Appear on HBO Comedy ‘Eastbound and Down’

Actor Omar Dorsey has signed on to appear on several episodes of Eastbound and Down for it’s upcoming final season, announced the Hollywood Reporter.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dorsey, recently recognizable for his co-starring performance in “Django Unchained”, will play a former NFL player turned talk show host, who is “described as an aggressive, obnoxious person who rarely lets anyone get a word in edgewise.”

Dorsey has had some recent television experience, including series Bones, Rizzoli & Isles and Castle. Dorsey will also have a recurring role on Fox’s drama series Rake, which stars Greg Kinnear and is due out this fall. In addition to his television background he starred in the hit film “The Blind Side,” as noted by the Hollywood Reporter.

Eastbound and Down network HBO announced this past June that the upcoming fourth season will indeed be it’s last. The creative team decided it would be best if the baseball comedy did not return for a fifth season, despite the network’s interest in the show’s future, the Hollywood Reporter announced.

The fourth and final season of Eastbound and Down will air on HBO on Sunday, September 29 at 10 p.m.
