Disney+ has renewed High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for a fourth season ahead of the third season’s premiere, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe show’s upcoming season is slated to premiere July 27.

Set at East High School – the same school where the infamous Disney trilogy High School Musical was filmed – the series centers around a drama club and their faculty advisers as they host productions of different musicals. The first season followed the school’s production of High School Musical, while the following season hosted Beauty and the Beast and the third season is expected to show the group’s production of Frozen.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series helped launch the career of star Olivia Rodrigo (Bizaardvark), who is currently touring in support of her album “SOUR.” While she starred as a regular cast member in the show’s first two seasons, she will return as a guest star in the third season.

Alongside Rodrigo, the series stars Joshua Bassett (Better Nate Than Never), Matt Cornett (Bella and the Bulldogs), Sofia Wylie (Andi Mack) and Julia Lester (Prince of Peoria).

“The series continues to deliver best in class drama, humor, and heart” president of Disney Branded Television Ayo Davis said, per The Hollywood Reporter. “[Creator and executive producer] Tim Federle’s vision and interpretation of this legacy IP keeps evolving season over season, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Wildcats next.”

The forthcoming eight-episode third season is reportedly set in a California sleepaway camp where the group will experience “an unforgettable summer ripe with romance, curfew-less nights and a taste of the great outdoors.”

“This series has been an epic adventure from the start, and I’m beyond grateful that we get to keep making music, telling these stories, and showcasing these exceptional stars,” Federle said.
