Disney+ is preparing itself for the upcoming year as its Star Wars content expands. According to Comicbook, there is new teaser for the new season of Bad Batch that premieres on January 4, 2023. While the beloved series The Mandalorian returns to the small screen in March, the new series Ahsoka is also slated to come out in early 2023, and fans might receive some news about the new show Skeleton Crew from Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Cop Car) soon.
In the meantime, Bad Batch will hold the fort as the unusual clones take the audience to new Star Wars planets as they escape from the Empire. Clone Wars alum Dee Bradley Baker (Peacemaker, American Dad!) claims the new season will have more and be better than the previous one and also says “it’s really, really good Star Wars.” Bad Batch’s Twitter account also announced all the names and premiere dates for the episodes in season two.
According to Comicbook, Disney+ announced Bad Batch’s renewal shortly after the first few episodes premiered. The show has become popular among Star Wars fans who enjoyed Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels since the stories focus on long, important periods of time that fans don’t get to see often in the Star Wars movies. The animation brings a sense of nostalgia to fans of the original series.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch is a spinoff from the fan-favorite series Clone Wars where the Bad Batch first appeared. The new show focuses on a squad of clones that posses unusual abilities that make them stand out among the uniformity of the regular clones. The show follows this unusual squad as they find out about the Empire taking over the Republic. As they refuse to be a tool of the Empire, they discover that the Kaminoans created one more unusual clone, a female clone called Omega. The Bad Batch adopts Omega and together they help fight back against the Empire with help from familiar faces like Captain Rex.
