Disney+ New Animated Series ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Announced for 2021

According to Deadline, Disney+ is debuting the Lucasfilm’s animation Star Wars: The Bad Batch. This series adds to the Clone Wars chapters, being the last segment of these stories.

Bad Batch follows an experimental group called the Bad Batch and the handling of the after math of the clone wars. The group was introduced in The Clone Wars where each member carried a master skill which allowed them to make them pieces to an incredible, unique group. The series follows their missions and their journey as a whole to find meaning in their lives after the war.

“Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series,” said  senior vice president of Content and Disney+, Agnes Chu via Deadline.  “While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning.  We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”

Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian) will executive produce the series with Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance, NCIS) and Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance). Corbett will be head writer, with Rau also as an supervising director .Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian, Star Wars Rebels) will co-executive produce, with Josh Rimes as producer (Star Wars Resistance). 

Star Wars: The Bad Batch will premiere to Disney+ sometime in 2021.
