Disney+ Announces ‘Moana’ And ‘The Princess And The Frog’ Sequel Shows

Disney+ announced that popular Disney films Moana and The Princess and the Frog will be revived through sequel shows, according to SlashfilmBoth upcoming shows were announced during Disney’s 2020 Investor Day presentation.

The 2016 animated film entitled Moana follows Moana, an adventurous teenage girl on a mission to save her people through fulfilling the ancient quest of her ancestors. The sequel series will premiere on Disney+ in 2023 and has been described as a “long-form musical comedy,” via SlashfilmHowever, there is currently no news regarding producers or casting of the upcoming series.

As an earlier Disney film, The Princess and the Frog surrounded hardworking teen Tiana who has dreams of one day owning her own restaurant in New Orleans, until she gains a new perspective after meeting Prince Naveen. The series will be called Tiana and will premiere on Disney+ in 2022. News regarding casting is yet to be announced.
