DEA Agents Not Wasting Time Following Rules Anymore in Netflix’s Trailer for ‘Narcos’

Earlier this month, mxdwn television reported that Pablo Escobar’s brother Roberto Escobar was demanding to review the second season of Narcos before its official release. In addition, he wanted Netflix to pay him $1 billion for what he says is the unauthorized use of his family’s legacy. Roberto, was the former accountant formerly managed the money for his brother’s drug cartel and he was also in charge the gang’s assassination squad.

It appears the series’ showrunners were unphased by Escobar’s demands and went on to release the trailer for the upcoming season of Narcos.

Watch the official trailer for Narcos’ second season below:

The trailer initially starts off with a voice-over saying “Okay..let me break it down for you. Four thousand soldiers. Tens of thousands of rounds fired, and a bunch of fucking helicopters. There was no way Pablo Escobar was getting out of this one. Right?” Then out in the middle of a forest, Colombian soldiers turn on their vehicle headlights which reveals Pablo Escobar standing there confidently. The soldiers point their guns at him as he calmly says “excuse me.” They let him pass through. Then later we see news reports saying “Pablo Escobar has escaped from prison.”

The voice-over is heard again, this time stating “Yeah..it was the biggest law enforcement blunder of all time. And now we wanted payback.” The trailer follows with multiple shots fired, people being killed, and the DEA Agents fighting fire with fire as they finally stop playing by the rules and get their hands dirty so that they can take down Escobar once and for all.

The first season of Netflix’s Narcos was a success but the production for the second season was delayed for a while because of a change of showrunners. The crime thriller portrays the life of the drug lords in the 1980s and all the corruption that occurred in Colombia at the time. Wagner Moura stars as Pablo Escobar, Boyd Holbrook portrays Steve Murphy, and Pedro Pascal plays Javier Peña, former DEA agents.

You can watch all 10 episodes of Narcos Friday, September 2 on Netflix.
