‘Day of Our Lives’ Star Judi Evans Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Day of Our Lives star Judi Evans revealed that she is currently hospitalized after contracting the coronavirus. She has been in the hospital for weeks after a horse incident, and contracted the viral illness during her stay, according to Variety.

While hospitalized, 55 year-old Judi Evans started to experience mild symptoms including fever, aches and a cough. Her publicist Howie Simon reported to the public that Evans almost had both of her legs amputated because of blood clots as a result of COVID-19 complications. Prior to this, she had been suffering from the repercussions of a horse incident, which left her with a broken collarbone, seven broken ribs, two chipped vertebra and a collapsed lung.

Variety furthers with a statement from her publicist saying, “However speaking to her on Sunday, she was in good spirits and back to Judi “humor” despite all these spiraling turn of events,” wrote Simon. “She has said she appreciates all the prayers for her and they’ve helped her mentally, physically and spiritually! She just wants to continue to test negative on COVID19 before she can go home and get the rest she so needs!!!”

Evans has been a regular as Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives since 1986, starring in more than 600 episodes according to her IMDB page. She has also taken on many other roles in television and film credits, namely Guiding Light which granted her a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in a Daytime Drama Series.
