Darren Star’s ‘Emily in Paris’ Starring Lily Collins Moves from Paramount Network to Netflix, Will Stream this Fall

Emily in Paris, a series created by Darren Star (Younger), has changed hands from Paramount Network to Netflix. The first season, consisting of ten 30-minute episodes, will stream on the platform this fall, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The premise of the series, as told to The Hollywood Reporter revolves around Emily who is an “ambitious 20-something marketing executive from Chicago, who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy. Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends and navigating new romances.”

The romantic comedy will star Lily Collins (The Blind Side) as Emily with Samuel Arnold (Platane), Lucas Bravo (Smart Ass), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Call My Agent), Ashley Park (The King & I), Camille Razat (The Disappearance) and Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy) as supporting cast.

The series is produced by MTV Studios and Jax Media who backed Star’s previous series Younger. Star will executive produce with Jax’s Tony Hernandez (Broad City), Lilly Burns (Search Party) and Andrew Fleming (The Craft).

The series was first developed in 2017 for Paramount Network under leadership of Kevin Kay (Bar Rescue). However, the show’s move is part of a strategy from Keith Cox (Teachers) to broaden the network with big-name-dramas to replicate previous successes.

From Star: “MTV Studios and I couldn’t hope for a more perfect home for Emily in Paris than Netflix. With their international reach, we are excited to share Emily with audiences around the world,” via The Hollywood Reporter.
