‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Is Underway; First Set Photos Released

Smash hit Netflix original series, Daredevil, has officially begun production on its second season, just a few months after the first season was released on the online streaming platform.

The 13-episode series, created by Drew Goddard, premiered on Netflix in April. Daredevil features the eponymous Marvel superhero (played by Charlie Cox) – a hotshot New York lawyer, Matt Murdock, who leads a double life as a superpowered vigilante.

Cox stars alongside Elden Hanson and True Blood‘s Deborah Ann Woll in the superhero fantasy thriller, which has won acclaim for its compelling character arcs and brilliant exploration of the “flawed hero” archetype through Murdock/Daredevil. In the recent wave of Marvel-mania, Daredevil, in all its wit and maturity, has managed to make itself a standout.

Fans of the series who have already powered through all 13 episodes released in April, rejoice. Season 2 is officially underway, as evidenced by set photos depicting Cox and Hanson on set in all their heroic glory.

According to Netflix officials, the wait for Daredevil‘s next season should be relatively short. As filming of the popular series has been fast-tracked, season 2 has an anticipated premiere date of early 2016.

Marvel aficionados and TV enthusiasts in general can find the entire first season of Daredevil currently on Netflix.
