Creative Arts Emmy Awards: Nick Offerman Included in Several Wins for HBO’s ‘The Last Of Us’

The HBO drama series The Last Of Us has made history with its first wins of this award season at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last night, according to Comic Book. Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, We’re the Millers), who guest starred in the third episode of the series entitled “Long, Long Time” and won the Guest Star in a Drama Series award, was also on the list. HBO is no stranger to winning these awards, and The Last Of Us has also received a lot of praise for its adaptation of the critically acclaimed PlayStation game. Due to the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards, no actors, writers or directors were recognized last night. Even so, the series received several Creative Arts Emmy Awards last night, and they comprise:

  • Guest Actress in a Drama Series, Storm Reid, Episode 7, “Left Behind”
  • Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Episode 2, “Infected,” awarded to Barrie Gower, Prosthetics Designer; Sarah Gower, Prosthetics Makeup Co-Department Head; Paul Spateri, Key Prosthetics Makeup Artist; Nelly Guimaras Sanjuan, Key Prosthetics Makeup Artist; Johnny Murphy, Key Prosthetics Makeup Artist; Joel Hall, Key Prosthetics Makeup Artist; and Lucy Pittard, Key Prosthetics Makeup Artist.

  • Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour), Episode 1, “When You’re Lost In The Darkness,” awarded to Michael J. These are just some of the awards given last night for the series. The Last Of Us is also nominated for a plethora of other categories that will be announced and given during the Primetime Emmy Awards on January 15, such as: 

  • Outstanding Drama Series
  • Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series – Pedro Pascal (for Episode 6, “Kin”)
  • Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series – Bella Ramsey (for Episode 8, “When We Are in Need”)
  • Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series – Peter Hoar (for Episode 3, “Long, Long Time”) 
  • Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series – Craig Mazin (for Episode 3, “Long, Long Time”)

Season two of The Last Of Us is set to begin production in the first quarter of this year. However, the new episodes are not expected to debut until 2025. Following the show’s recent wins, and possibly on Jan. 15, it is uncertain if the series will receive any further awards until September of 2025.
