Constance Wu (Fresh Off the Boat) is making her television return – this time, on Amazon Prime Video. After completing six seasons of her hit show, Fresh Off the Boat, Wu is preparing to star in the upcoming Amazon Studios series, The Terminal List, via Deadline.
The Terminal List, based on Jack Carr’s (author, True Believer) bestselling novel of the same name, is a conspiracy-thriller that follows James Reese, a Navy SEAL, following the ambush of his team during an important mission. Upon returning home, Reece struggles to correctly remember details from his time in the military and is conflicted by his potential responsibility for the events that transpired. According to Deadline, Reece eventually uncovers nefarious forces set to jeopardize the safety of him and his family.
Wu will star opposite Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), who will play James Reece. She is set to play Katie Buranek, an ambitious war correspondent who leaves prestigious news outlet in order to independently seek out her own stories. According to Deadline, Buranek allies with Reece in order to uncover the conspiracy endangering him.
Pratt will executive produce the series through his company, Indivisible Productions. Also attached to executive produce is Antoine Fuqua (director, The Equalizer) who will direct the series, and David DiGilio (writer, Eight Below), who will write the series according to Deadline. In addition to writing, DiGilio is set to serve as The Terminal List‘s showrunner.
The Terminal List is only one of two projects Wu is working on for Amazon Studios. Via Deadline, the upcoming anthology series, Solos, will feature Wu, Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption), and Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada). Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Endgame), who is preparing to suit up in The Falcon and the Winter Solider in just few weeks, and Dan Stevens (Downtown Abbey) will also star in Solos.
Currently, no production schedule or release date for The Terminal List has been announced.
